Benefits of Joining the Warwick Town Democratic Committee
Many people in our community live their lives by, and teach their children, the principles of democracy. We believe in upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States, that no one is above the law and that we are all equal before it, that we should be protecting and expanding everyone’s civil rights, and that diversity is one of America’s greatest strengths. For those who want to help protect and defend our democracy, the Warwick Town Democratic Committee is the best place to do that. The Committee offers:
- An organized structure for volunteering at the grassroots level
- A chance to learn more about how our political system works and how we can be a part of it
- Lots of different ways to volunteer and share your time and skills
- The camaraderie of like-minded neighbors who also want to make a difference
- Training by those who have years of experience in registering and mobilizing voters
- Various ways to participate, depending on how involved you’d like to be and how much time you have available for volunteering
The Town of Warwick’s Election Districts
The Town Of Warwick consists of thirty-one (31) election districts. To see the Election District Map for the Town of Warwick, please click HERE.
Under the New York State election laws, each political town committee (e.g., Democratic and Republican) is entitled to two (2) voting committee members for each district. As such, the Warwick Town Democratic Committee is entitled to a total of 62 voting members. Town committees are also allowed to have an unlimited number of associate (non-voting) members. Whether you choose to become a voting member is entirely up to you and truly depends on how interested you are in becoming more deeply involved in local politics. Whether you decide to be a voting or non-voting member, EVERYONE who joins our committee is valuable to us, because everyone brings unique ideas, skills, talents, and abilities that can help us reach our goal of fulfilling the promise of democracy.
Because our local elections can be decided by a single vote, the efforts of our local Democratic Party members (voting and non-voting) make a HUGE difference in our election results, the quality of our local leadership, the political direction of our town, and, ultimately, the quality of life for everyone in our community.
